I know that it has been a long time since the first part of the article about the visit to the bustling city of Naples. Due to the workload, I had to have a break from writing the blog for some time. I hope you have not forgotten about this website and you will be enthusiastic about the news that I am coming back to publishing. There will also be some changes that I will tell you about in the introduction to each new post :). Despite the lack of time to write for the last year – I still managed to collect some interesting materials. So I think that I will be able to surprise you in the next posts.

A visit to Naples – Part 1

There is a place in the south of Italy, where the mighty Mount Vesuvius rises above the densely inhabited area. A place where people appreciate life with such passion and reverence, as if every day was to be their last.

It is a place where at every step we meet the images of saints decorated with photographs of people whom they have in their care. It is a place where a stranger will spill the salt under our feet for luck- and then will demand a payment for it. In the shops you will find shelves laden with red horns, wide-eyed owls and hunchbacked grandfathers. And every crossing the streets will remind an arcade computer game.

Welcome to Naples – a bustling city. Loud, a little wild and at the same time full of wonderful culture, art and rich tradition.

A very interesting exhibition took place in a beautiful building Galeria Willa at the Wólczańska St. 31 in Lodz on September 22, 2016. The exhibition consisted mainly of jewelry made by former students of the School of Fine Arts (now the Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz), and from 8 unique exhibits signed by Helena Kowalewicz-Wegner.

Two weeks ago I had the great pleasure of interviewing five jewelry artists: Marcin Tyminski, Bogumił Bytomski, Arek Wolski, Paweł Kaczyński and Krzysztof Roszkiewicz, who in 2001 founded an artistic group, with a catchy name, SIX.
