Amberif fair, or the International Fair of Amber, Jewellery and Gemstones took place in Gdansk for the 23rd time. As might be expected from the event of such an experience, also in this year exhibitors turned up numerously and their number oscillated around 480 companies from around the world. Merchants, who attracted to the Polish capital of amber more than 55 countries, including Lithuania, Ukraine, China, Russia, Italy or Germany, can count on a wide range of jewelry, tools, bullion and above all: amber.

Joya Artistic Jewellery Fair is an event held in Barcelona every year, around the second week of October. Exhibitors from all over the world meet there to present their work, participate in thematic seminars and numerous exhibitions and workshops.

October 1-3, there was another edition of the Gold Silver Time fair. This year, due to a rift in the industry, the event was held in a new location – the exhibition hall on Mars Street 56c.

Following contemporary jewelry I came to Dusseldorf. It is a city where the University of Applied Sciences is – the academy which educates and trains inter alia the product design and jewelry design. I was lucky to be allowed to visit not only the building of the university but also to take part in the preparations that preceded students defending their diplomas (Bachelor or Master).

Legnica SILVER Festival is the largest and most important festival in Poland and one of the most important ones in Europe. It is an artistic jewelry show that has been organized for over thirty years by the Art Gallery in Legnica. During the festival there are annually presented more than a dozen individual and collective exhibitions, Polish and international artists, and many accompanying events such as symposia, lectures, exhibitions of jewelry and fashion, contests and workshops for goldsmiths, film screenings, concerts and a series of artistic actions and happenings in the city. On April 14-16 I had an opportunity to visit one of the biggest design fairs in Europe – Milan Design Week. The number of events held during the festival oscillated around 2000, which was associated with the need to devote a great deal of time to select the most interesting ones.
